FAQ

Q&A

What level of English proficiency is required upon enrolment?

It is recommended that you have English proficiency of at least Pre-2nd grade on the EIKEN Test in Practical English. There is an oral examination in English, so you will need to be able to answer questions in English.

Are science classes also conducted entirely in English?

All classes are taught in English by BC certified teachers. However, if it is difficult to understand classes taught in English only, our school teachers will provide support in Japanese.

What is the difference between the International Baccalaureate (IB) and BC programs?

The IB is an internationally recognized university entrance qualification, but it is ultimately a private qualification. It is certified through a two-year program, and teaching materials are left to the discretion of the teacher, which has raised concerns about differences between schools and a shortage of supervising teachers. On the other hand, the BC Program is assigned to supervising teachers who have passed rigorous qualification tests by the BC Ministry of Education. Students study for three years and receive instruction using materials designated by the BC government.

Can returning students transfer?

We accept transfer students from overseas. If you take the transfer exam and pass, you will be allowed to transfer to KCDDS. Please contact us for more details.
